Shukla Ekadashi is the 11th lunar day (Tithi) of Shukla Paksha, the bright half of the lunar month. Its epithet is Anand Prada, "inculcates happiness", and its tutelary lord (Adhidevta) is Vishvadeva (deity of a particular class).
Counted paksha by paksha, Shukla Ekadashi is ruled by Yama. It belongs to the Nandaadi group of Nanda Tithis, ruled by Venus, and in Shukla Paksha it is called Bali & Sumahati. By eye status Shukla Ekadashi is a two-eyed Tithi.
Shukla Ekadashi becomes a Dagdha Tithi when the Sun is in Cancer. It is Maas Shunya in Margshirsh.
