Gajanana Sankashta
About Gajanana Sankashta
Gajanana Sankashta is a monthly Sankashti Chaturthi dedicated to Lord Ganesh as Gajanana, meaning elephant-faced one, representing wisdom, strength, and the removal of obstacles.
Devotees observe a strict fast from sunrise until moonrise, breaking it after sighting the moon and offering modak and durva grass to Lord Gajanana.
The elephant-faced form of Ganesh is one of the most popular. Devotees believe Gajanana removes all obstacles from the path of success.
Special pujas are performed at Ganesh temples, and families conduct elaborate worship at home with traditional items.
