Kundali Dosha — Check Your Birth Chart
Manglik, Kaal Sarp, Sade Sati, Pitra, Grahan, Gandamoola, Shrapit, Guru Chandal, Vish, Angarak, Kemdrum — understand each, check free, and find real remedies.
Eleven planetary patterns carry the label "dosha" — a word that gets mistranslated as "curse" and creates panic where awareness would be more useful. Roughly 70% of all charts show at least one. If doshas were truly curses, most of humanity would be cursed. They are not: they are energy patterns that need understanding, not fear.

When Doshas Overlap
A single planetary conjunction can trigger several dosha labels at once — this does not mean your problem is tripled.
Saturn + Rahu in the same sign
One conjunction, three lenses. Shrapit reads its karmic intensity, Grahan reads Saturn being eclipsed by Rahu, and Pitra reads ancestral affliction through the same pair. The placement is identical — only the interpretive layer differs.
Jupiter + Rahu in the same sign
Guru Chandal describes Jupiter's wisdom being coloured by Rahu specifically, and carries its own mitigation logic (Jupiter in its own sign). Grahan simply flags that Jupiter's significations are eclipsed, and grades by orb.
Mars + Rahu in the same sign
Angarak captures the volatility of the pairing — amplified drive and risk. Grahan reads Mars's significations being eclipsed. Angarak checks for a Jupiter aspect as its mitigation; Grahan checks the orb.
Saturn + Moon in the same sign
Vish reads the emotional weight of Saturn on the Moon specifically, and checks the Moon's own dignity as mitigation. If a node also sits close to the Moon, Grahan triggers separately on its own orb rule.
Key takeaway: Counting doshas matters less than understanding which placement is causing which effect. If you see three doshas, check whether the root source is one conjunction or separate placements before drawing conclusions.
When Does a Dosha Activate? — Dasha & Dosha
A dosha is a permanent pattern in the chart, but it is not active all the time — it intensifies during specific Dasha-Antardasha windows.
| Dosha | Activation Periods |
|---|---|
| Manglik Dosha | Mars Mahadasha · Mars Antardasha · 7th Lord Dasha |
| Kaal Sarp Dosha | Rahu Mahadasha (18 yrs) · Ketu Mahadasha (7 yrs) |
| Sade Sati | Already transit-based · Saturn Mahadasha compounds it |
| Pitra Dosha | Sun Mahadasha (6 years) · Rahu Antardasha · Saturn Antardasha |
| Grahan Dosha | Dasha of the eclipsed planet · Rahu / Ketu Antardasha |
| Gandamoola Dosha | Moon Mahadasha (10 years) · the nakshatra lord's Dasha |
| Shrapit Dosha | Saturn Mahadasha (19 years) · Rahu Antardasha |
| Guru Chandal Dosha | Jupiter Mahadasha (16 years) · Rahu / Ketu Antardasha |
| Vish Dosha | Saturn Mahadasha (19 years) · Moon Mahadasha (10 years) |
| Angarak Dosha | Mars Mahadasha (7 years) · Rahu Mahadasha (18 years) |
| Kemdrum Dosha | Moon Mahadasha (10 years) · Moon Antardasha |
Practical implication: If your chart shows Manglik Dosha but you are not currently in a Mars Dasha, the dosha is not actively manifesting.
