What is Shrapit Dosha?

Shrapit Dosha is formed by Saturn and Rahu occupying the same sign. The name translates as "cursed", which is unfortunate, because the pattern classical texts actually describe is far more specific: a life where shortcuts reliably fail and slow, honest effort reliably compounds. Saturn demands process; Rahu wants to skip it. The friction between them is the whole dosha.

Saturn and Rahu are checked for a shared sign. When they conjoin, the orb between them grades the intensity — within 5° is strong, within 12° moderate, wider than that mild.

No. The label is a dramatic translation of a specific planetary conjunction. What classical texts describe is a pattern of delayed rewards and failed shortcuts — demanding, but neither supernatural nor permanent in its effects.

Is Shrapit Dosha the same as Pitra Dosha?

They overlap but are not the same. A Saturn-Rahu conjunction can trigger the Shrapit label, the Grahan label (Saturn eclipsed by Rahu) and contribute to Pitra Dosha simultaneously — one placement, three interpretive lenses.
