Nagula Chavithi

About Nagula Chavithi

Nagula Chavithi is dedicated to the worship of serpent gods (Nagas) and is observed on the fourth day of the dark fortnight in Shravan (August-September). It is especially important in Andhra Pradesh.

Women worship Nagaraja (the king of serpents) for the protection of their children. Special pujas are performed at snake temples and anthills, offering milk and prayers.
