🙏Shraddha Saham (Point of Faith) Calculator

The sensitive point of faith, reverence and devotion

Shraddha Saham is the degree associated with faith and reverence — the capacity for devotion and for keeping obligations to what one holds sacred. Venus measured against Mars sets devotion against will.

—

Formula

Venus − Mars + Ascendant. The same formula applies to day and night births alike.

How to Read It

Read with the 9th house and Jupiter for religious inclination, and with the 5th for mantra and upasana. The Saham describes disposition, not any particular tradition.

Three Pillars of Shraddha (Faith) Strength

👑

Lord Dignity

Shraddha (Faith) lands in a different sign for every chart. When that sign's lord is exalted or in its own sign, this Saham backs its theme fully; when the lord is debilitated or heavily afflicted, the same theme meets resistance.

📍

House Placement

Where Shraddha (Faith) falls matters as much as its lord. In kendras (1, 4, 7, 10) or trikonas (1, 5, 9) it tends to act directly and visibly; in dusthanas (6, 8, 12) the same energy still exists but works through obstacles, competition or delay rather than ease.

Cross-Check

No Saham is read in isolation. Shraddha (Faith) is always cross-checked against the 9th house of dharma and Jupiter before drawing a conclusion — a sensitive point is a clue, not a verdict on its own.

Myths vs Reality

✗ A well-placed Shraddha (Faith) guarantees an easy life in this area.

✓ It lowers resistance, not effort — opportunities tend to arrive more naturally, but the work of acting on them still remains.

✗ A weak Shraddha (Faith) is a permanent curse.

✓ A chart carries dozens of relevant factors — this Saham is one data point, not the whole picture. The actual house and its lord remain the primary indicators either way.

✗ Shraddha (Faith) alone is enough to make a major life decision.

✓ Classical practice always reads it alongside the relevant house, its lord, and the applicable Dasha period — never as a standalone signal.

What If Shraddha (Faith) Is Weakly Placed?

A weak Shraddha (Faith) does not mean this life area is closed off — it means results here tend to come through deliberate effort rather than natural ease. Check the 9th house of dharma and Jupiter directly: they carry the primary promise, with this Saham only a secondary refinement on top.

Shraddha Saham (Point of Faith) Calculator — FAQ

Does this Saham relate to Shraddha rites for ancestors?

The word carries both senses. As a Saham it is read for faith and reverence as a disposition; ancestral rites are matters of the 9th house, Pitri Saham and Pitru Dosha analysis.

Why Venus and Mars for faith?

The classical formula sets Venus, which governs devotion and surrender, against Mars, which governs will and assertion — faith measured as the arc between yielding and striving.

Can I check Shraddha (Faith) without an accurate birth time?

No — Sahams are extremely sensitive to the Ascendant degree, which changes roughly every 2 hours. Even a 15-minute error in birth time can shift this Saham into a different house. An accurate birth time is essential.

Will this Saham show the same result in every astrology app?

Minor differences are possible — the ayanamsha used (we use Lahiri), the precision of the birthplace coordinates, and rounding can shift the final degree by a few arcminutes, though the sign and house usually stay stable.
