About Mahodaya Yoga
Mahodaya Yoga is a supremely auspicious celestial combination celebrated in Hindu astrology and Panchang. It generally occurs when Sunday (Ravi-var) coincides with the Hasta Nakshatra, the constellation symbolizing the hand of the Divine and skillful action.
The word "Mahodaya" means "great rising" or "supreme upliftment." Activities begun or completed during this yoga are believed to be blessed with growth, success, and divine illumination. It is particularly favorable for solar worship, charity, and the initiation of virtuous deeds.
Ancient texts declare that observing spiritual disciplines on Mahodaya Yoga destroys sins, grants progeny and prosperity, and brings clarity of purpose. The day is ideal for honoring ancestors, worshipping Surya, and distributing food to the hungry.
