Shukla Tritiya is the 3rd lunar day (Tithi) of Shukla Paksha, the bright half of the lunar month. Its epithet is Bala Prada, "bestows power", and its tutelary lord (Adhidevta) is Gauri (wife of Lord Shiva).
Counted paksha by paksha, Shukla Tritiya is ruled by Brahma. It belongs to the Nandaadi group of Jaya Tithis, ruled by Mars, and in Shukla Paksha it is called Dharmini. By eye status Shukla Tritiya is a blind Tithi.
