Chaturthamsa Chart (D-4) Calculator — FAQ

Does Chaturthamsa only show real estate, or general luck too?

Both. Classical texts use D-4 for immovable property and vehicles specifically, and also as a general fortune (bhagya) indicator alongside the D-9 Navamsa — the two are often read together for overall life comfort.

Which house and planets matter most in D-4?

The 4th house and its lord are primary. The Moon (natural karaka for home and mother) and any benefic aspecting the 4th house strengthen property and domestic comfort; Rahu/Ketu or malefic aspects there are read as instability in residence.

Can Chaturthamsa be read without an accurate birth time?

Like every divisional chart it depends on an accurate ascendant, which needs a reliable birth time. A few minutes of error rarely changes D-4 house placements much, but larger errors (15+ minutes) can shift the ascendant and are worth correcting first.
