Navamsa Chart (D-9) Calculator

Marriage, dharma and the soul's inner nature

The Navamsa is the most important divisional chart in Vedic astrology — Parashara states no prediction is complete without consulting it. It reveals marriage quality and spouse nature primarily, but also the native's inner dharma and the karmic stability behind everything the birth chart promises.

Division Rule

Each rashi is split into 9 equal parts of 3°20' each — a 108-part zodiac.

How to Read It

Check the 7th house and its lord in D-9, along with Venus, for spouse nature and marital harmony. A planet occupying the same rashi in both D-1 and D-9 is Vargottama — considered nearly as strong as an exalted planet, since its outer promise and inner karmic capacity align.

Navamsa Chart (D-9) Calculator — FAQ

What does the Navamsa chart show that the birth chart does not?

The Navamsa reveals the inner soul purpose, marriage quality and karmic stability that the D-1 birth chart only hints at. Where D-1 shows potential, D-9 shows whether that potential matures into results, especially from the mid-30s onward.

What is a Vargottama planet and why does it matter?

A Vargottama planet occupies the same rashi in both D-1 and D-9. This means the planet's outer promise (D-1) and inner karmic capacity (D-9) are synchronised — classical texts treat Vargottama planets as nearly as strong as exalted ones.

Can a weak D-1 planet be strong in the Navamsa?

Yes, and it is significant when it happens. A planet debilitated in D-1 but exalted in D-9 indicates hidden inner strength — outward struggle paired with deep karmic capacity that often surfaces during that planet's Dasha.
